The meeting of the right musicians to start a band may be the hardest mission for anyone. I think that's the main reason why most people go the solo route? That's how it seemed to be for me anyways. But, there is a feeling you get when you watch a band and/or ensemble that inspires you.
The stars aligned when I met these three new energies. To me, these musicians are fellow aliens from the same planet as I. I just feel thankful that we're able to share this creative time together.
Salvador Orozco Jr (guitar, vocals) opened my ears to new melodic structures I would have never been able to hear personally, and may I add that his audiophile passion skills are beyond what I could have wished to have as a partner.
Johnathan Thomas Wright (drums, percussion, vocals) The human drum groove machine.. The first time he walked into our rehearsal loft I felt his energy was the perfect fit right away. As soon as we started jamming his drum swings and syncopated style had me smiling. He moved to Los Angeles in early 2011 from West Virgina, Mason County, home of the Mothman. His reason to make the move was music, art, and the west coast culture.
All of these happy accidental connections. The new DAMEDAS is a full ensemble now with each member contributing to the creative flow of energy.
We are glad to announce a new summer single coming to you very soon. Finding such like minded musicians was made possible by the world wide internet. I leave off saying two words once again
"Thanks Technology"
Stay tuned for the new sound.
